Personalized IOL Options

Choosing the right intraocular lens for your individual needs

Personalized Intraocular Lens (IOL) Options

Intraocular lensesDuring cataract surgery, an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted to replace the cloudy natural lens. The choice of IOL is the single most important factor determining post-operative visual quality.

Raum Smile Eye Clinic offers a comprehensive selection of the latest intraocular lenses, recommending the most suitable option based on each patient's lifestyle, visual needs, and eye condition.

How toChoose Your Lens?

The right intraocular lens depends on your lifestyle and visual needs. Consider the following questions:

1

Are your daily activities primarily distance-oriented or near-work focused?

For mainly distance activities, consider a monofocal or EDOF lens. For extensive near work, a multifocal lens may be best.

2

Are you sensitive to halos or glare at night?

If you are sensitive to halos, an EDOF or monofocal lens is recommended. If not particularly sensitive, a multifocal lens is a good option.

3

Do you have astigmatism?

Patients with astigmatism should consider a Toric lens combination.

4

Are you willing to wear reading glasses after surgery if needed?

If you want to be completely glasses-free, choose a multifocal or trifocal lens.

5

What is your occupation and what are your hobbies?

Occupations requiring detailed near work (e.g., dentists, artists) require special considerations when choosing a lens.

Important Notice

The final decision on intraocular lens selection should only be made after a thorough examination by a board-certified ophthalmologist . Each patient's eye condition is unique, and the most suitable lens varies accordingly.

Raum Smile Eye Clinic will recommend the most appropriate intraocular lens for you after comprehensive pre-operative testing and a one-on-one consultation.
