Two-Day LASEK

Safe correction even for thin corneas

What is Two-Day LASEK?

Two-Day LASEK is Raum Smile Eye Clinic's optimized LASEK program: comprehensive examination on day one, surgery on day two, completing your vision correction within just two days.

LASEK applies the laser directly to the corneal surface without creating a flap, unlike LASIK. This makes it more resistant to physical impact and provides excellent long-term corneal stability, particularly suitable for those who engage in vigorous physical activities or have thinner corneas.

While recovery takes slightly longer than LASIK, the latest laser technology and medication protocols have significantly reduced pain and discomfort. Long-term visual outcomes are comparable to or even better than LASIK.

Benefits of Two-Day LASEK

Flap-Free Safety

Unlike LASIK, no corneal flap is created, resulting in greater resistance to physical impact and excellent long-term corneal stability.

Suitable for Thin Corneas

LASEK is an option even for patients with thin corneas (under 500μm) who are not candidates for LASIK, broadening eligibility.

Ideal for Active Lifestyles

With no flap-related complication risk, LASEK is safer for those engaged in vigorous sports or physically demanding occupations.

Minimized Corneal Haze

Advanced Mitomycin C (MMC) application techniques and optimized laser profiles minimize the risk of corneal haze.

Surgical Procedure

1

STEP 1. Comprehensive Examination

Over 50 precision tests including corneal thickness, refractive errors, pupil size, and ocular health.

2

STEP 2. Corneal Epithelium Removal

The corneal epithelial cells are gently removed using alcohol solution or a brush.

3

STEP 3. Excimer Laser Correction

An excimer laser is applied to the corneal stroma to precisely correct myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia.

4

STEP 4. Protective Contact Lens Placement

A therapeutic contact lens is placed to protect the surgical site and promote epithelial regeneration. It is removed after 3-5 days.
